In the year 2000 Russia exported:85% of the pulp,
 64.7% of plywood,
 41.1% of sawn materials,
 36.4% of round wood,
 32.4% of paper produced.
57.1% of the income of Russian forest sector came from the export.In Europe the main buyers of Russian forest products are:pulp and paper - Germany, Netherlands, Austria;
 sawn wood - UK, Netherlands;
 round wood - Finland and Sweden.
 Western European consumers of Russian wood products are often unaware of the about the environmental price of the products they buy.
